Future Disco 3

Sean Brosnan returns with the third release in this rather excellent series. Jump in to find another inspired mix of house-tinged contemporary/nu/new [choose your own genre-tag here] discoid tunes. As with the previous releases in the series, Future Disco 3 is a mix best experienced start-to-finish — Sean has the production of ‘this is a journey’ setlists programmed somewhere deep in his DJ DNA. Enjoy on a sunny day with your feet up. Or on the dancefloor. I’m proud that some more of my clubland photos again feature in the accompanying booklet.

Horse Meat Disco Vol. 2

It’s coming. You know you want it. The second CD compilation from the Vauxhall disco gods doesn’t actually include any of my photos, but the promo video features my Horse Meat Disco-related pix in abundance. Check it on YouTube….

Future Disco 2

The second of Sean Brosnan’s Future Disco compilations, released on his new label NeedWant, has hit the shelves. I’ve only had one listen so far, but the quality of tracks and edits seems up there with those of the first Future Disco, which was released earlier this year by Azuli. Grab a copy. And come along to the launch party at the Queen of Hoxton on October 16th — Faze Action (Live), Crazy P (Live / DJ Set), Severino, Sean Brosnan, Matty J provide the music for what should be a big night. As with the first Future Disco compilation, …

HMD interview on RA…

Good interview with the ever-charming Jim and James from HMD in Resident Advisor today. Nice that they’ve also used one of my photos from the mayhem that was Horse Meat’s 2008 NYE party at Cargo…

Horse Meat Disco Album Launch Party

It’s out! Available at all the usual places, online and off. Get yourself a copy. The launch party was held last night at — of course — The Eagle in Vauxhall. Some photos from the event here. Also a reminder that I’ve put together a little slideshow of the photos HMD and label Strut commissioned from me for the release.

Horse Meat Disco Album featured in i-D Magazine

The current issue of i-D includes a half-page full-page feature on the forthcoming HMD album, illustrated with some of the photos Strut commissioned from me for the accompanying booklet. Hunt it down, and make sure you’re at the Eagle Sunday 8th August for the launch party. [Above: Ernesto poses with a 7-inch. Click for more photos from the shoot…]

Horse Meat Disco CD

The release date approaches. Quinton at Strut has sent me through the almost-final layout for the CD and accompanying booklet. It looks amazing. Strut is renowned for its attention to detail, and the HMD release does them proud. The CD will include a 20-page booklet, which features some great background on Horse Meat and its founders/residents. It also includes around 20 photos from my archives, and some new shots they commissioned from me especially for this release. The artwork also includes nice photos from Marius Hansen and Peter Podworski. You’ll have to wait until release day to get your hands …

Disco Bloodbath Vs Optimo Espacio

London’s Disco Bloodbath teamed up with Glasgow’s finest for the warehouse party of the year (so far). The rave-y vibe wasn’t due only to Optimo’s eclectic dipping into their oldskool record box, although 3am classics from the KLF and their peers brought a huge cheer from the crowd. Nor was it just the underground venue, or the retro laser effects: the people were there for the music, and loving what they heard. The Disco Bloodbath crew always put the music first, hence the Funktion One sound system taking pride of place at the front of the room. Brilliant. Photos here.
